Our client are seeking an experienced Assistant Construction Manager (ACM) to support a growing portfolio of large‑scale ESCO and municipal construction projects across California.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Construction Manager/Senior Construction Manager with day‑to‑day project coordination and execution.
- Manage and process RFIs
, submittals, change documentation, and project correspondence. - Assist with schedule updates
, tracking milestones, and ensuring deadlines are met. - Maintain accurate project documentation, logs, and reporting tools.
- Participate in client meetings and calls
, providing updates and supporting the CM with technical and administrative details. - Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Help manage multiple concurrent projects, including large California initiatives.
- Bring structure and organization to a fast‑paced, scattered environment by implementing tracking systems, workflows, and process improvements.
- 4+ years of experience of assistant construction management, project engineering, or superintendent support
. - Strong understanding of construction workflows, including: RFIs, Schedules, Submittals and Documentation control.
- Ability to work onsite and interact directly with clients and project stakeholders.
- Highly detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage time‑sensitive tasks.
- Comfortable supporting multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and ability to represent the team professionally.
- Experience in the ESCO industry
, energy efficiency, or performance contracting. - Exposure to large municipal or utility‑driven construction projects.
- Ability to support Director‑level construction leadership.
- Familiarity with California construction standards and permitting processes.
- A proactive, dependable work style — someone who shows up, follows through, and keeps projects moving.
- The ability to bring clarity and structure to a busy, fast‑moving team.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to support wherever needed.
- Confidence working directly with clients and representing the CM on calls and in meetings.
- A desire to grow into broader construction management responsibilities over time.
