Our client are seeking an experienced Construction Manager or Senior Construction Manager to lead and oversee complex ESCO, municipal, and large‑scale infrastructure projects across California. This role requires a seasoned construction professional who can manage multiple concurrent projects, interface directly with clients, and bring structure to a fast‑paced, high‑visibility environment.
You will be responsible for full lifecycle construction oversight — from pre‑construction coordination to schedule management, RFI processing, contractor oversight, and client communication.
Key Responsibilities- Lead construction activities across multiple projects, including large California initiatives.
- Oversee project schedules, milestones, and critical path activities to ensure on‑time delivery.
- Manage and process RFIs
, submittals, change orders, and construction documentation. - Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and internal teams to maintain project alignment.
- Serve as a primary client‑facing representative
, participating in calls, meetings, and progress reviews. - Provide leadership and oversight to Assistant Construction Managers and project support staff.
- Ensure compliance with ESCO‑specific requirements, performance contracting standards, and energy‑related construction protocols.
- Maintain detailed project tracking, reporting, and documentation to support transparency and accountability.
- Identify risks, resolve field issues, and elevate challenges proactively.
- Support project planning, budgeting, and forecasting as needed.
- 5–10+ years of experience in construction management
, senior construction management
, or superintendent‑level roles. - Strong command of construction workflows.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑moving environment.
- Experience working onsite and directly with clients.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to bring structure to scattered or evolving project conditions.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and support junior construction staff.
- Experience in the ESCO industry
, energy efficiency, or performance contracting (highly preferred). - Background managing large municipal, utility, or public‑sector construction projects.
- Familiarity with California construction standards, permitting, and regulatory requirements.
