Alvarez & Marsal is a leading independent global professional services firm specializing in turnaround management, performance improvement, and corporate advisory services. We are expanding our Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) – Technology Industry Group team, which serves upper middle market and large‑cap private equity firms to improve operating results at portfolio companies. The team works across the full spectrum of the deal lifecycle: pre‑deal operational and synergy reviews, ‘Day 1’ planning, post‑deal implementation, and restructuring/turnaround support.

What

will you be doing?

Our Technology Industry Group offers a structured and disciplined approach to create and capture value. You will provide corporate and equity buyers with knowledge and tools for performance management, M&A, carve‑outs, joint ventures, alliances, and post‑close execution.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation of major client deliverables, including full ownership of the financial model and presentation with limited support by senior project team
  • Actively leading detailed analyses to support project objectives and client needs
  • Design and implement tailored cost optimization initiatives that align with the unique needs and strategic goals of each business
  • Lead work streams, including synergy assessment, cost savings initiatives, org design, financial baseline, etc.
  • Assist in core operational due diligence and performance improvement, identifying key risks and creating key analyses to support the engagement
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with client objectives and expectations
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals and client presentations

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with outstanding academic performance
  • 5–9+ years of professional consulting experience with software and technology‑oriented clients, specializing in buy‑side and sell‑side operational due diligence, financial due diligence, synergy and carve‑out assessments, performance improvement, transaction execution, TSAs, Day 1 readiness, and post‑close execution
  • Experience leading work streams in a business transformation
  • Functional involvement in Finance, Accounting, HR, Organizational Design, Role & Job Analysis, Leadership, Stakeholder Engagement, Communications Planning, Supply Chain, Operations, Salesforce, Marketing, Pricing, Margin Optimization, Knowledge Management, Program Leadership, and M&A in the technology sector
  • Team‑oriented, adaptable, curious, quick learner, strong initiative, and advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
Salary

$125,000 – $190,000 annually, dependent on education, experience, skills, and geography. A discretionary bonus program is available.
