Opportunity
This is a rare chance to step into the center of the mental and brain health ecosystem. As Chief of Staff (CoS), you will work directly with the leadership across both the fund and the Institute. You’ll have exposure to world‑class founders, investors, policymakers, and thought leaders. This is a high‑trust, high‑autonomy role requiring grit, urgency, and a mission‑first mindset.
Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership: Drive operational leverage for leadership by triaging priorities, managing strategic initiatives, and ensuring follow‑through across all commitments.Investment Process & Founder Success: Own investment operations, manage the deal pipeline, coordinate diligence, and drive portfolio support through founder programming and events.Institute Growth: Develop and manage partnerships with leading institutions, recruit key talent, and support fundraising efforts.Cross-Cutting Initiatives: Act as a force multiplier for leadership, manage cross-functional projects, and support Grey Matter’s brand‑building through social media and thought leadership.Qualifications
3–7 years of experience in venture capital, startups, consulting, philanthropy, or policy.Highly organized, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to bring structure to chaos.High EQ and a natural ability to build trusted relationships with founders, LPs, and partners.A sharp, crisp, and concise communicator (written and oral).A fierce commitment to the mission of transforming mental and brain health.Comfortable with intensity: long hours, steep learning curves, and the ambiguity of building something new.Benefits
