Overview

A Field Sales Manager achieves sales volume and distribution objectives by managing and coaching a team of sales representatives to meet performance goals through planning, organization, training, and execution.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manages and coaches a team of sales representatives.
  • Conducts effective one‑on‑one sales meetings to communicate objectives, identify opportunities, review performance, and guide team members on closing gaps.
  • Develops and reviews performance enhancement plans, maintains training files, performs coaching calls, and follows up on progress.
  • Addresses skill deficiencies by developing customized coaching plans and tracking progress.
  • Pre‑plans each sales period with one‑on‑one meetings to strategize goal achievement and define target accounts.
  • Participates in associated interview and selection by collaborating with HR to source candidates, schedule, conduct interviews, and manage onboarding.
  • Maintains strong customer orientation by building relationships with key accounts, identifying opportunities, performing business reviews, developing opening orders, and resolving customer complaints.
  • Manages supplier surveys by planning routes, pre‑surveying accounts, conducting surveys, recapping, and scheduling sales representatives as needed.
  • Coordinates supplier ride‑withs by collaborating with Business Managers in scheduling sales representatives.
  • Resolves customer issues by following administrative processes, company policies, and escalating to management as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent training and work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related sales experience.
  • Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other computer programs.
  • Results‑oriented professional with verbal and written communication skills, diplomacy, discretion, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi‑task, work independently or within a team, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and reporting skills.
  • Sound judgment and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume, team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to hold a Solicitor’s Permit.
  • Understanding of Wine and Spirits.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone.
Competencies
  • May help coordinate the work of junior team members.
  • Resolves varied and non‑routine issues by analyzing and investigating solutions.
Compensation
  • $76,800 - $104,100 Salary Range
  • 20% Annual Bonus
  • Mileage Reimbursement at 70 cents per Business Mile driven
