Job Summary

The Private Client Director is responsible for driving results in the Private Client Office with prospective high‑net‑worth individuals and businesses through significant business development activities. The role also professionally manages onboarding client relationships to maintain the highest levels of satisfaction, earn additional business, and generate quality referrals. Expected activities include leading prospect and client meetings, networking events, engagement with centers of influence, outreach activities, and coaching the team to perform at the highest level.

Job Responsibilities
  • Acquire and deepen affluent client relationships through dedicated and consistent business development and relationship management activities.
  • Manage the Private Client Office in service delivery, sales, operations compliance and all HR matters.
  • Possess a deep understanding of Flagstar Private Bank’s consumer and business product offerings, and broader capabilities across all lines of business at Flagstar Bank; introduce appropriate bankers and subject matter experts as needed.
  • Analyze and resolve issues for clients, leveraging PCO bankers and internal subject matter experts when appropriate, and escalating any sensitive matters as needed.
  • Serve as a culture carrier; in every internal and external relationship, collaborate on, deliver, and follow up on customized solutions.
  • Use independent judgement, experience, and discretion to make decisions.
  • Interface with top clients, executives, and board members as needed.
  • Act as the team subject‑matter expert in all private bank deposit and credit products and wealth‑management solutions.
  • Perform special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Adhere to regulatory and compliance policies and standards, and complete required compliance training.
  • Be ultimately responsible for the Private Client office and its facilities.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Underlying education:
    Undergraduate degree (4 years or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in business development with affluent clients in private banking or wealth management.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience leading high‑performance teams in financial services.
Job Competencies
  • Strong leadership and influence skills.
  • Ability to analyze and provide financial‑service solutions to individual and business private banking clients.
  • Adept at networking, outreach, and setting appointments.
  • Skilled in working with centers of influence.
  • Multi‑tasking required.
  • Exceptional calendar and time‑management skills required.
