A leading corporate practice is seeking a junior/mid-level associate to join its California team (Los Angeles or Bay Area). This role is ideal for an attorney who wants broad corporate reps across the startup and venture ecosystem, with exposure to financings, growth-stage work, and strategic transactions.
Why this role?This is a great seat for a motivated associate who wants to work closely with clients in the startup and venture capital community and build true “generalist” corporate range. The deal mix spans emerging growth companies, venture financings, growth and private equity, and the full spectrum of liquidity and strategic events—including public offerings and M&A. You’ll work in a team-oriented environment with meaningful client interaction and a strong runway to take on more responsibility as you grow.
Key Responsibilities- Advise startups and emerging growth companies on day-to-day corporate matters and strategic decision-making.
- Support venture capital financings and related corporate governance work.
- Assist on growth-stage and private equity transactions, including structuring, diligence, and documentation.
- Contribute to public offering matters and related securities/corporate work.
- Support mergers and acquisitions transactions, including drafting, diligence, and deal execution.
- Collaborate closely with partners and senior associates to manage timelines and deliver high-quality work product.
- JD classes 2021–2024.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Entrepreneurial, client-focused approach with comfort in client-facing work.
- Prior large law firm experience is a plus, but not required.
- Experience or exposure to venture capital, growth, or private equity is a plus.
- $235,000–$365,000
