Construction Management Strategic Sourcing

This role is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that align with the goals of Construction Services / Vegetation Management portfolio across all business lines and broader enterprise objectives. This position leads strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier governance to drive performance, cost savings, sustainability, and supplier diversity. The role works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure sourcing activities meet operational needs and capital projects while identifying opportunities for process improvements, standardization, and increased value.

This is a highly collaborative role that plays a key part in strengthening sourcing outcomes and enhancing the client experience within the portfolio. Our client collaborates with internal clients and suppliers managing more than $12 billion of annual company spend to develop mutually beneficial total value solutions for goods and services. The department provides the following services to internal clients: procurement of goods and services, strategic sourcing and cost savings, category management, supplier relationship management, execution and outreach, compliance management, ongoing procurement field support and management of the source to pay cycle.

What You Will Be Doing

• Establish a high-performance team to develop strategic portfolio and category plans to generate cost savings, deliver service excellence, optimizes diversity spending and total cost of ownership for key lines of business.
• Ensure the overall governance of the contract approval process from contract creation through contract award.
• Oversee contract spend across multiple spend categories.
• Develop short and long term strategies for all spend categories within portfolio.
• Lead complex cross-functional teams in the execution of strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Manage spend analysis, needs assessment, benchmarking and business case development.
• Lead development and execution of negotiation strategies.
• Monitor and maximize customer satisfaction using standardized client service level agreements.
• Manage continuous improvement-based relationships that deliver mutually beneficial results.
• Establish service level agreements to hold suppliers accountable for performance.
• Approve purchase orders and contracts from $500,000 to $10 million.
• Work with Sourcing Supervisors, Category Leaders and Sourcing Specialists.
• Develop work processes and procedures aligning to organizational requirements.
• For Manager Level roles - will lead Strategic Sourcing teams, managing 2+billion in SS spend.

What Is Needed For This Role

• At least 8 years of total strategic sourcing experience.
• At least 5 years of supervisory experience.

Desired Skills

• Desired MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
• Utility industry experience.
