The Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) - a nonprofit organization with a membership of over 5,600 lawyers and legal professionals in the Bay Area - is seeking a Temporary Membership Program Assistant (Clerical/Data Entry). To find out more about BASF, please visit our website ar.org.

The Position:

This part‑time temporary role will assist the Membership team with clerical and data entry tasks, focusing on:

  • Calling lapsed members to encourage renewals and answer questions.
  • Providing basic guidance for membership applications or renewals.
  • Accurately recording outcomes of calls, updating member records, and sending follow‑up emails.
  • Supporting other clerical tasks related to membership renewals.

This position is ideal for someone who is highly attentive to detail, has excellent organizational skills, and can work independently.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong computer and data entry skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A professional, friendly demeanor for member outreach.
  • An ability to maintain accuracy and speed when handling repetitive tasks.
  • Prior experience with customer service, data entry, or administrative support (preferred).

This position works 17.5 hours per week during BASF’s normal business hours of 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday and is onsite Tuesday and Thursday, with the option to work remotely Monday/Wednesday/Friday.
