Controller, Accounting, Accounting Manager

Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards. This role involves managing the monthly and annual close process, preparing consolidated financial statements, and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting knowledge and leadership skills to guide financial reporting and audit processes effectively.

Responsibilities:

- Manage the monthly and annual close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

- Prepare consolidated financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP.

- Review and ensure the accuracy of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

- Implement continuous improvements and automation to streamline financial processes.

- Deliver high-quality management reporting packages to support business decisions.

- Maintain expertise in complex accounting areas such as revenue recognition

- Draft and review technical accounting memos for non-routine transactions.

- Lead the annual financial statement audit, coordinating efforts with external auditors.

- Strengthen internal controls and accounting policies

Requirements

- A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with significant exposure to month-end close processes.

- Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting standards such as ASC 606.

- Proven ability to prepare consolidated financial statements and oversee complex journal entries.

- Experience working with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll operations.

- Background in technical accounting, including drafting memos and reviewing complex transactions.

- Previous experience in a Big 4 accounting firm is highly preferred.

- Strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate across functions and with external auditors.
