Senior Accountant

Silicon Valley | Hybrid (2–3 days onsite) | SaaS

A high-growth SaaS company is seeking a Senior GL Accountant to join its accounting team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role reports to the GL Manager and plays a key part in supporting close, technical accounting, audit readiness, and process improvement in a fast-paced environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accountant who thrives in scaling organizations and enjoys both operational and technical accounting exposure.

What you’ll do:

• Execute period-end close activities, including complex journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis
• Own key balance sheet and income statement accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Support monthly financial statement preparation and global consolidation activities
• Research and apply technical accounting guidance; draft accounting memos and recommendations
• Partner cross-functionally to provide financial insights and support business initiatives
• Serve as a key audit liaison, supporting external audit requests
• Help establish and improve accounting processes, systems, policies, and internal controls
• Support ad hoc projects in a dynamic, high-growth environment

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong month-end close and GL accounting background
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze large data sets
• Experience with Net Suite (Coupa and Blackline a plus)
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Nice to have:

• Big 4 public accounting experience and/or CPA
• Fixed Assets and ASC 842 (leases) exposure
• SaaS or high-growth company experience
• Work model: Hybrid (2–3 days onsite per week)
