WEEKEND SHIFT caregiver

Overview

Senior Helpers South Valley is looking for a 12 hour shift weekend caregiver with experience in dementia clients. Locations:
Northridge, Granada Hills, North Hills, Sylmar, San Fernando, Porter Ranch.

This is a part-time hourly position to provide in-home care and assistance to elderly individuals in the Encino, CA and San Fernando Valley areas. This role includes companionship, light housekeeping duties, transportation, meal preparation, and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, toileting, dressing, and related tasks.

The compensation for this role is $18 to $20 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits include accrued paid sick days, flexible hours, career advancement training, and caregiver appreciation activities.

• Companionship and conversation
• Light housekeeping
• Assistance with apparel selection (laying out clothes) and household management
• Errands, meal planning and preparation, laundry and linen care
• Medication reminders; transportation; assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, toileting, dressing, and mobility support
• In overnight situations, preparing sleeping area
• Documenting activities in the Care Plan Binder and recording daily hours worked and services performed
• Reporting any significant changes to the office and following all policies and procedures in the Senior Helpers Handbook

• Must treat clients with dignity and respect
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English at an average adult level
• Must be willing to submit to a background check per California state law
• Must obtain TB testing prior to engaging with clients
• Must be able to drive and have a valid CA driver’s license
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs unassisted
