Job Description:

General Summary Tests and modifies general systems-level software/hardware, specialized utility, and/or hardware. Interprets wireless specifications. Designs test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures. Documents systems-level defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to developers. Identifies, analyzes, troubleshoots, and documents problems with program function, output, or content. Develop testing programs that assess the effectiveness of a new system or modification of an existing system.

The candidate will be responsible for

* Creating and maintaining automated test cases, executing test suites, reviewing and diagnosing reported bugs, and ensuring overall system quality before a customer release.

* Analyzing and disintegrating software systems and coordinating with other teams to enhance the overall design.

* Researching test tools, methodologies, and trends and upgrading existing practices and processes.

* Designs, develops, maintains, and troubleshoots automated suites of tests through continuous integration for value-added feedback.

* Works with the engineering teams to derive testing requirements throughout the development cycle.

* Reproduces, debugs, and isolates problems and verify fixes.

* Works closely with software developers to create software artifacts including test plans, test cases, test procedures, and test reports.

* Manages individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with close supervision.

* Communicates feedback about identified feature issues to software and systems teams.

* Regularly discusses testing problems with manager and peers to maintain open communication.

* Conducts basic field or lab tests as directed by tech leads.

* Makes simple decisions as it pertains to basic feature issues associated with systems testing and follows up with tech lead if requirements are unclear/ambiguous.

* Seeks opinions of others within own team about ways in which a problem can be addressed differently.

Preferred

Competencies:

* Exposure to programming in Java, Python, and shell scripting.

* Experience in Apk development is preferred.

* Understanding Android Architecture is an advantage.

* Handset test experience with commercial handset OEMs using any HLOS like Android, Windows Phone, iOS is a plus.

Required Qualification

* Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
