Position Overview

The Web Designer is a full‑stack developer responsible for building, maintaining, and improving the college’s web presence. The role requires designing engaging user experiences, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards, and managing back‑end infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop responsive web pages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Maintain and update the college’s content management system and related modules.
  • Manage a LAMP (or similar) stack, docker containers, and Linux servers.
  • Ensure web sites meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to gather requirements and provide training to end‑users.
  • Monitor site analytics and recommend improvements to increase user engagement.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience managing modern websites with a CMS and a LAMP stack.
  • Proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, and front‑end frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Linux administration, and open‑source software.
  • Strong UI/UX skills and familiarity with modern design patterns.
  • Demonstrated ability to build custom themes, modules, or functionality.
  • Commitment to accessibility and WCAG compliance.
  • Foreign‑degree holders must provide a credential evaluation from a NACES member or ACEI.
