- Sick Pay – 1 hour for every 30 hours
Please note:
This position is temporary; you will only receive state minimum of sick time, and it does not include vacation or 401K benefits.
Position Overview
JFS is looking for a compassionate, mission‑driven individual to join the Aging Care team as the fall prevention coordinator. In this role, you have the opportunity to use your passion and planning skills to make a meaningful difference in your community and help change lives across San Diego. The fall prevention coordinator plays an integral role on the team and supports the entire agency by helping older adults age with dignity in their home.
JFS Fall Prevention provides mobility aids, home safety items (including no slip mats, shower chairs) and other items to keep homes safe and reduce falls. The fall prevention coordinator individually meets with older adults, completes a program intake and assessment and facilitates purchasing and providing fall prevention items. The position requires travel throughout the service area.
Responsibilities
Program Coordination
- Coordinate home repairs for older adults within fall prevention program territory
- Connect directly with caregivers and clients to schedule home repairs and gather required information
- Maintain accurate records of clients, home repairs and intake forms
- Develop new vendor relationships
- Order correct quantities and ensure on‑time material delivery
- Schedule and appreciate volunteers
Management
- Market and promote JFS Fall Prevention Services within the community
Contract Management
- Track contract, including number of services, unique clients and program expenses
- Submit accurate and timely program invoices
Ensure completion of monthly program reports (both internal and grant reports) - Perform other tasks as assigned
Skills / Experience / Abilities That Are a Must‑Have
- Valid CA driver’s license, a clean driving record, insurance, a reliable personal vehicle, and willingness to travel off‑site
- 2-3 years of administrative support experience
- Experience in a nonprofit setting (preferred)
- Advanced use of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field
Physical Requirements
- Regular requirement to sit, stand, talk and listen
- Lift or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds
