Position: ELECTRICIAN LEADER with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will interpret and pass on instructions from supervisors to the employees assigned to you and plan the workload accordingly.
* You will demonstrate proper work methods and answer questions on procedures, policies and instructions.
* You will monitor, review and spot check work in progress and upon completion to ensure requirements have been met.
* You will possess working knowledge of electric and electromechanical theory, primarily in power and lighting systems, electric motors, and electrical control systems.
* You will operate special support equipment and test stands associated with the systems and components.
* You will keep the supervisor informed on the status and progress of work and any causes for delay and on personnel matters. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Must be a US Citizen.
* Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
* Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

* This is a bargaining unit position.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a current man lift and forklift license.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
* You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
* Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE: (1) Reading and interpreting sketches, blueprints, schematics, and other engineering specifications pertaining to complex electrical systems; (2) Possessing knowledge of ohmmeters, ammeters, voltmeters, phase rotation meters, industrial analyzers, Wheatstone bridges and recording ammeters; (3) Constructing, maintaining, installing, modifying and repairing electric power and lighting systems and all associated circuits;

(4) Installing raceways, supports, electrical wiring, switches, outlets, fuse boxes, meters, indicating or recording instruments, light fixtures, electric motors and appliances; and (5) Coordinating efforts of the maintenance team to provide technical assistance along with making recommendations concerning final acceptance and/or rejection prior to turn-over of the equipment to the production shops. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.
