Maintenance Worker / HVAC Electrical position in the Facilities department ition type:
Classified, 1.0 FTE, 12 months. Bargaining Unit: AFT - Classified Professionals. FLSA Status:
Non-Exempt (overtime eligible).

DSC/Facilities Services – 1544 Frazee Rd, San Diego CA 92108

• Perform hands-on maintenance and repair tasks for HVAC and electrical systems.
• Maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and electrical equipment; read sketches, drawings, and blueprints; maintain logs and records.
• Contribute to a safe, sustainable, and accessible campus environment as part of the Facilities Services unit.

• EPA Certification for refrigerant handling.
• At least three years of experience in building construction or maintenance trades, including at least one year of apprentice-level HVAC or electrical repair experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC equipment, refrigeration, electrical systems, energy management controls, and safe work practices.
• Ability to use tools and equipment to maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair HVAC and electrical systems; ability to work independently with little direction.
• Ability to read sketches, drawings, blueprints; maintain logs, reports and records.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to work with diverse stakeholders in an educational environment.

• Pay Range 26: $5,431.85 – $7,489.87 per month, based on current Classified salary schedule;
  New employees begin on Step D ($5,431.85).
• Salary negotiation is not allowed; promoted or transferred employees per CBA.
• Position is non-exempt (may accrue overtime).
• Excellent benefits for contract employees with assignments >= 50% FTE and eligible dependents.
