Building Maintenance Technician
We are seeking a dedicated Building Maintenance Technician to ensure the optimal performance and safety of our facilities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operating, maintaining, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting.
Responsibilities- Address all plumbing, electrical, or HVAC requirements of the building(s).
- Maintain heating equipment, chillers, DX units, pumps, cooling towers, fan coil units, VAV, and air distribution systems.
- Monitor and adjust mechanical/pneumatic equipment, steam stations, control gauges, distributor panels, valves, thermostats, diffusers, and other equipment.
- Verify field conditions and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Monitor Energy Management systems.
- Repair doors, ceilings, hand railings, floors, and perform other general repairs and installations.
- Perform repairs on plumbing fixtures including water closets, urinals, and lavatories.
- Conduct preventive maintenance duties such as changing filters, cleaning coils, and flushing condensers.
- Inspect engine room equipment, fan room equipment, cooling towers, and other mechanical components.
- Ensure emergency exit signs and lights are operational and clear access to emergency exits.
- Document and report activities to supervisors.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and customer concerns.
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives.
Complete all required safety training annually. - Adhere to the uniform dress code and maintain a neat appearance.
- Proficiency in electrical, mechanical, facilities maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, and repair services.
- Ability to troubleshoot and conduct preventive maintenance.
- EPA 608 Certification.
- Experience with hand tools and painting.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 5+ years of related work experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Skills & Qualifications
- Graduate of an apprentice program or trade school preferred.
- Possession of trade licenses or permits, such as Journeyman or Master Electrician License.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Knowledgeable in energy management systems and techniques.
- Thorough knowledge in building systems operations, maintenance, and repair.
- May be required to have certification as a Universal Technician for CFC's.

Work EnvironmentThis position involves travel between properties in varying weather conditions. The role requires the use of standard office equipment and may involve extended periods of duty during emergencies. Physical demands include the ability to stoop, stand, climb, and frequently lift equipment weighing at least 50 lbs.
Job Type & LocationContract to Hire, based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and BenefitsPay range: $40.00 – $45.00/hr.
