Overview
M1 is looking for an Aircraft Mechanic I (Electrician). The Aircraft Mechanic I (Electrician) is responsible for performing maintenance on various aircraft systems, including structural, engine, hydraulic, avionics, armament, and more. This role involves supporting operations with the U.S. Navy and foreign partners, maintaining the safety and readiness of military aircraft. You will work with multiple aircraft components, including landing gear, flight surfaces, ventilation systems, and rotor systems.

- Aircraft Repairs & Systems Maintenance:
Repair and rebuild components including aircraft structure, engine/gearbox/rotor system, and avionics. Work on blades, fuselage, rigging, hydraulic units, and more. - Inspection & Troubleshooting:
Perform inspections such as 175-hour, phase, and periodic checks. Examine engines for issues such as cracks, corrosion, and leaks. - Component Testing & Repairs:
Test engine operations, remove, repair, and reinstall engines, and replace faulty components like fuel pumps, generators, and magnetos. - Electrical & Accessory Maintenance:
Repair and replace electrical wiring systems, aircraft accessories, and perform preflight, through-flight, and post-flight inspections. - Jacking & Towing:
Participate in jacking, towing, and moving aircraft as necessary, keeping detailed maintenance records. - Specialization:
Focus on areas like engine repair, airframes, electrical, or armament repair. - Leadership:
Supervise and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards. Monitor maintenance tasks and work quality, ensuring the aircraft remains mission ready. - Maintain necessary certifications such as Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) or Quality Assurance Representative (QAR).
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance performed in OOMA or similar systems ensuring compliance with 4790 and safety standards.
- Additional Duties:
Maintain a clean and safe work environment (shop housekeeping) and comply with safety standards and proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. - Language:
Must be able to read, write, and understand English. - Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of H-60S/R/F/H series aircraft maintenance experience (or equivalent rotary aircraft experience), including experience as a CDI/CDQAR. - MH60-R experience is highly preferred.
- Qualifications:
Must meet requirements outlined in CNAFINST 4790.2 and local work site instructions, and complete Personal Qualification Standards (PQS) as necessary. - Technical
Skills:
Proficiency with computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, NALCOMIS/OOMA). Ability to read and interpret technical publications and operating instructions. - Clearance and Licensing:
Required to obtain and maintain a favorably adjudicated Tier-3 Background Check. Common Access Card (CAC), and necessary facility credentials. - Security:
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and possible medical exam.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Computer usage for documentation using codes and clear written and verbal English language required.
- Constant use of eyesight abilities while reviewing documents, walking around work areas and constant use of English language speech/hearing abilities for communication.
- Constant mental alertness around all work areas, planning/organization skills, and ability to work under deadlines.
- Climbing aircraft using aircraft step and all types of ladders or stands.
- Standing for long periods and minimal sitting.
- Ability to work under extreme weather conditions and meet physical demands including medical examinations as required.
- Work site has head, hand, hearing, eye, slip and trip hazards. Proper PPE and safety procedures required.
- Must be able to work all shifts. Full-time employment; however, 40 hours per week is not guaranteed. Flexible start/end times based on flight schedules.
