POSITION SUMMARYThe Engine Service Tech 2 - Truck Shop troubleshoots mechanical problems in Caterpillar and allied products. With minimal supervision, the Engine Service Technician 2 - Truck Shop performs duties as assigned by management in the repair, maintenance and/or rebuilding of equipment in the service shop or field, in a safe, efficient and capable manner in the least amount of labor hours necessary and without re‑work.
Besides performing mechanical repair as directed, the Engine Service Technician 2 - Truck Shop also estimates work orders and prepares written quotes for submission to the Lead Person and/or Service Supervisor.
7) years of experience in the repair of on-highway trucks and buses.

Works with hands.
Raises or lowers miscellaneous equipment parts and tools. Lifts up to 50 lbs. with frequent exertion
Extends hands and arms in any direction.
Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
Remains in standing position if required for certain repair or maintenance work.
In and out of equipment.
Reads work tickets, parts and service books and operates heavy equipment.
Communicates via telecommunications and in person.
Hears well enough to discern mechanical problems for safety in and around shop and construction sites and to receive communication via telecommunications and in person.
Sits in equipment and vehicles.
Lies in prone position under vehicles and equipment.
