ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:

As a Tile Setter, you are a key member of a crew responsible for punch-out tile work in a fast-paced construction environment in an occupied residential high‑rise project. Our work is 100% turnkey - so once the old piping is replaced, our drywall, paint, carpentry, and tiling teams are responsible for every final touch, including general labor tasks as directed. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, precise, patient, production-oriented, and possesses a willingness to "do whatever it takes" to facilitate the completion of each unit.

This role is intended to be a full-time hourly position, based in San Diego, and reports to a Project Manager.

Key

Duties and Responsibilities:

Install ceramic, porcelain, stone, glass, and other tile materials on floors, walls, showers, tubs, back splashes, and countertops
Perform layout, measuring, and cutting of tile to ensure accurate alignment and clean finishes
Prepare surfaces for tile installation, including leveling, waterproofing, and applying underlayment or membranes
Set tile using appropriate mortars, adhesives, spacers, and leveling systems
Grout, caulk, seal, and clean tile surfaces to achieve a finished, professional appearance
Complete punch-list items, including replacing cracked, chipped, or improperly set tiles; re-grouting, re-caulking, and adjusting tile transitions as needed
Ensure all tile work meets design specifications, building codes, and quality standards
Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to resolve outstanding items efficiently
Perform minor touch-ups and adjustments required for final inspections, walkthroughs, and close-out
Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas within occupied or near-completion units
Meet project deadlines to support timely unit turnover and delivery
Assist with the safe and timely movement of materials throughout the project
Follow all company procedures, safety requirements, and job-site protocols
Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, residents, and others
Maintain a professional demeanor, ensuring minimal disruption to residents
Identify and recommend process improvements, ensuring improved quality and deliverables
