Outside Machinist Journeyman Diesel Mechanic – San Diego, CA

Salary Range $27.04 to $50.27 hourly

Applicants are Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard, Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their caregivers.

• Perform major and specialized mechanical overhaul and repair work on diesel marine engines and related marine equipment and systems using work specifications and technical manuals.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work performed.
• Maintain open communication with the management team regarding job status, updates, and changes.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs and solutions.
• Provide guidance and training to junior mechanics and apprentices.
• Order and manage inventory of parts needed for repairs.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.

• Minimum 5 years of marine and/or shipyard experience preferred.
• High School/GED education required.
• Proficiency in use of measuring devices, hand tools, and power tools.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
