Electrician

Job Summary

The Electrician assembles, installs, tests and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures. The Electrician will also diagnose malfunctioning systems using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical equipment and power distribution throughout the plant.
• Install and maintain high, medium and low voltage power controls on equipment.
• Perform necessary maintenance to the equipment and machinery to repair or replace defective parts.
• Perform adjustments and calibration procedures on various process equipment.
• Interpret electrical printouts, installation instructions and work orders.

High school diploma/GED

• Industrial electrical experience or equivalent education.
• Familiarity with NFP 70E.
• Demonstrated experience and ability in mechanical, electrical and electronic maintenance troubleshooting techniques.
• Knowledge of basic AC and DC control circuits as well as terminology of tools, prints and equipment.
• Able to effectively communicate with other maintenance personnel, supervisors and management.
• Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.
• Electrical maintenance background at a large processing facility (mine, pulp plant, steel mill, etc.) preferred.
• PLC implementation and troubleshooting experience preferred.

Successful candidate must submit to post‑offer pre‑employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
