Security Systems Technician

Job Summary

Performs or assists with installation, programming, and checkout of security systems such as access control, CCTV, audio, and mass notification systems. Includes system installation, programming, testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and documentation.

Salary: USD $25.00 - $32.00 per year.

• Program and install security systems (card access, CCTV, CATV, intrusion) per manufacturer requirements and engineered drawings.
• Provide leadership on small projects.
• Act as the Company liaison for interface with customer representatives.
• Perform work with complete knowledge of the above systems.
• Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Maintain project documentation and create red‑lined field drawings according to Company policies and procedures.
• Adhere to all Company, customer, and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.

• Basic hand tools: screwdriver (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (adjustable, needle nose, lineman), hammer, cable stripper, insulated crimping tool, flashlight, and gloves.
• Multimeter, butt‑set, toner/wand, coax compression and/or hex crimp tool.

• Self‑motivated, positive approach, professional image.
• Critical thinking, effective written and oral communication.
• Travel within branch or regional territory as needed.
• Work at heights, off a ladder, and in confined spaces; lift up to 50 lb and move up to 75 lb.
• Ability to see and distinguish different colors, read small print, and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.
• Meet company minimum driving standards.

Must possess at least a high school diploma or GED equivalency. Minimum 3–5 years experience in security installation. Knowledge or ability to learn Company/industry codes. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Must meet company minimum driving standards. Must be able to interpret blueprints and service documents including specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.

3–5 years (minimum 2–4 years as noted). No license required.
