Lead Physical Security Specialist

Position Description

You will serve as a LEAD PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the SECURITY DEPARTMENT and COMMAND OPERATIONS GROUP of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. The incumbent serves as the team leader for the Physical Security Program, providing direct oversight and coordination of the work performed by two subordinate security specialists. The duty location of this position is Naval Air Station, San Diego, CA.

• You will assign tasks, review completed work for accuracy and compliance, mentor junior staff, and provide technical guidance on complex security issues.
• You will plan, develop, and implement comprehensive physical security policies and procedures for FRCSW facilities.
• You will lead vulnerability assessments and physical security surveys across geographically separated areas encompassing personnel and government assets valued in the tens of billions USD.
• You will evaluate the effectiveness of existing physical security postures and recommend enhanced security measures, control requirements, procedures, and facilities.
• You will lead the development and implementation of comprehensive Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection programs and contingency plans.
• You will review and analyze security incidents to identify trends and implement preventative measures.
• You will serve as the primary point of contact for emergency preparedness and response planning, ensuring the command is equipped to handle a wide range of potential incidents, including natural disasters, security breaches, and terrorist threats.
• You will oversee the implementation and maintenance of advanced security systems including Automated Electronic Control System (AECS), proximity and motion detection devices, cypher locks, high security pad locks, and personnel control systems.
