Position DescriptionThe Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body and seeks Assistant, Associate, or Full Project Scientists.
The Center for Perinatal Discovery is a collaboration between the Departments of Pathology, Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences, and Pediatrics. Its mission is to understand the effects of maternal health on pregnancy, and the impacts of pregnancy exposures and outcomes on maternal and offspring health throughout the lifespan.
The successful candidates will be part of the Center for Perinatal Discovery with opportunities to collaborate across laboratories, participate in small and large projects, teach, and supervise students and postdoctoral fellows. They will make original significant contributions to a research program in stem cell, reproductive, and/or perinatal biology, and participate in experimental design, data analysis, manuscript and grant writing.
Appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Project Scientist level will be based on candidate background and experience.

QualificationsBasic qualifications (required): Candidates must hold an MD or MD/PhD, or a PhD in stem cell, reproductive biology-related, or biological sciences-related fields.
Preferred qualifications: Candidates with at least 2 years of experience, training, or knowledge in utilizing human stem cells or placental tissues, and a minimum of 3 first-author/co-author publications are preferred.
