Our proprietary ORICISION™ platform enables discovery of both protein degraders and protein conformation cor rectors, allowing us to match the best drug to treat each disease using patient-derived disease models to ensure successful translation into the clinic.
Origami’s lead asset is an oral pill, first-in-class protein degrader for Huntington’s disease. Multiple assets for additional indications including Frontotemporal Dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and ALS are being developed.
Origami is seeking a highly motivated individual to contribute to exciting drug discovery programs advancing therapies for neurodegenerative diseases.
Role SummaryThe successful candidate is expected to play a key role in the Origami team, should have considerable cell culture experience, and have a strong knowledge of standard biochemical, cell and molecular biology techniques. The individual is expected to have a track record of successfully providing timely, accurate work.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, optimize and perform cell-based assays and screening strategies
- Maintain iPSC, NPC, neuronal, primary and/or other cell cultures
- Provide detailed experimental protocols and develop SOPs
- Keep accurate inventory of supplies for laboratory operations
- Keep current with scientific literature and technology developments
- Provide project leadership and supervise, mentor and train junior scientists
- Effectively communicate with team members on research progress
- Perform all other related duties as assigned; level of responsibility will depend on experience
- MS or PhD in relevant scientific field with a minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in an industry setting
- Minimum 2 years of hands‑on mammalian cell culture experience
- Hands‑on experience developing and executing cell‑based assays, standard biochemical and/or molecular biology techniques.
- Ability to plan and execute experiments accurately, on time, and with minimal supervision
- Proficiency with standard laboratory calculations, dilutions and multi‑well plates
- Meticulous and timely record keeping
Demonstrated ability to multitask and collaborate with scientists in a highly dynamic environment - Outstanding organizational, time management, verbal and written communication skills
- Cell culture of human primary cells, neurons, stem cells or induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs)
- Experience using Quantitative Capillary Western, MSD and/or immunochemistry techniques
- Experience with automation / high throughput assays
- Proven track record of supervisory or mentoring skills
