The position is for a Rooms & Catering Manager. Role is responsible for selling
courtesy room blocks and
catering events
. Range of pay is $58,000-$66,000
- Sales & Client Engagement
- Prospect, negotiate, and secure group room blocks for weddings, corporate meetings, and social events.
- Conduct site tours and presentations to showcase hotel accommodations and event spaces.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to drive repeat business.
- Event Planning & Coordination
- Design customized catering menus that align with client preferences and budgets.
- Collaborate with culinary and banquet teams to ensure flawless food preparation and service.
- Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown.
- Administrative & Financial Management
- Prepare proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders (BEOs).
- Manage scheduling, billing, and post-event follow-up.
- Monitor revenue goals and track performance metrics for rooms and catering sales.
- Team Collaboration
- Coordinate with front desk, housekeeping, and food & beverage teams for smooth operations.
- Provide leadership and support during events.
Hotel sales experience is preferred, but if you’re motivated, client-focused, and ready to learn, we’ll give you the tools to succeed.
Sales Responsibilities- Drive revenue through proactive sales efforts, including phone calls, email communication, client appointments, site tours, networking events, and trade shows.
- Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with corporate, group, and event accounts to foster trust, loyalty, and repeat business.
- Deliver engaging sales and marketing presentations tailored to prospective clients.
- Prioritize revenue-generating activities as directed by the Director of Sales, ensuring efficient time and account management.
- Follow up on all leads within 24 hours to maximize conversion opportunities.
- Track production of assigned accounts, analyze market trends, and leverage brand/corporate tools to capture and shift market share.
- Maintain awareness of the competitive set through STAR reports, ensuring the hotel achieves or exceeds fair share.
- Submit accurate weekly sales recaps and actively participate in sales meetings and special projects.
- Collaborate with all hotel departments in a professional and positive manner to ensure seamless guest experiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to clients and colleagues.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional, polished appearance, aligned with hotel grooming and dress standards.
- Detail-oriented, flexible, and self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Natural relationship-builder with strong interpersonal and people skills.
- Demonstrates “aggressive hospitality” — going above and beyond to deliver exceptional client and guest service.
- Highly visible and engaged during key events and peak business opportunities.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and reach as needed throughout the day.
- Capable of lifting up to 30 lbs. and handling event or sales materials as required.
- Comfortable with some exposure to cleaning chemicals in operational settings.
