Regional Sales Manager - Engineered Solutions, Fire Training Systems

Location: Remote (Western US territory)

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time

Job Responsibilities
  • Generate profitable sales exceeding annual goals while meeting customer needs better than competitors.
  • Cover the Western US territory and be based within the assigned territory.
  • Build the Draeger business in the territory through new business development with identified target customers.
  • Maintain high awareness of market trends and competition; share insights with internal stakeholders.
  • Develop an annual sales plan and manage the territory to maximize productivity; plan sales activities 30‑60 days in advance.
  • Build strong relationships with distributor partners at multiple levels and with key decision‑makers.
  • Build relationships with decision makers and influencers in businesses, private organizations, and government agencies.
  • Conduct research during pre‑call planning to identify key decision makers and anticipate customer needs.
  • Probe to understand customer needs and promote value, not price.
  • Use expert knowledge to present Draeger products and services as solutions to customer needs and business issues.
  • Stay current with safety regulations and policies relevant to the Draeger product line.
  • Utilize CRM, email, word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet tools to maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records.
  • Control expenses within budgetary guidelines.
  • Manage consignment and demo equipment to ensure accurate record‑keeping and cost‑effective utilization.
  • Design, plan, and elaborate complex product and application solutions for customers.
  • Oversee bids, tenders, and RFPs; negotiate prices for complex solutions.
  • Coordinate with internal resources and customers for solution approval and implementation.
  • Support release of comprehensive documentation and handover all technical data to customers.
  • Execute service agreements with customers in collaboration with the Draeger Service department or external providers.
Qualifications
  • BA or BS in business or a technical discipline from an accredited university, or 5‑10+ years in a similar position.
  • Relevant industry, government, or military experience may substitute if directly related to the product and its procurement.
  • 5+ years of selling to similar customers or relevant experience in specific segments.
  • Understanding of pricing structures and gross margin.
  • Ability to comprehend technical aspects of the products and their applications.
