JOB OVERVIEW
The Senior Venue Sales Manager is accountable for revenue growth, sales team leadership, strategic account development, and disciplined execution across the full event sales lifecycle. This role owns both individual sales production and the performance of the sales team while ensuring seamless coordination with Operations to protect margin, client satisfaction, and brand reputation.
This position functions as a commercial leader within the organization. The Senior Venue Sales Manager establishes standards for sales strategy, proposal quality, pipeline rigor, and client experience while serving as a visible external representative of Snake Oil Cocktail Company within the hospitality and special events ecosystem.
Success in this role requires strategic acuity, operational fluency, financial literacy, and the ability to lead decisively in a fast paced, deadline driven, event environment.
SALES AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES Revenue Leadership and Sales Execution- Own individual and team revenue targets aligned with quarterly and annual company objectives.
- Generate new sales opportunities through outbound prospecting, referrals, venue relationships, and industry networking.
- Manage and direct the sales team to execute inbound inquiries with speed, accuracy, and professionalism.
- Create, present, and close sophisticated beverage catering proposals and experiential service packages.
- Maintain pricing discipline while maximizing upsell penetration, add on revenue, and overall event profitability.
- Manage client expectations throughout the sales process and ensure contract accuracy and execution integrity.
- Lead weekly sales meetings with clear metrics, pipeline review, forecasting discipline, and accountability.
- Track and analyze conversion rates, booking velocity, revenue attainment, and individual sales performance.
- Coach and mentor Sales Representatives to elevate professionalism, responsiveness, and closing effectiveness.
- Ensure all sales team members arrive prepared to meetings with accurate reporting and actionable updates.
- Partner with executive leadership to evaluate sales performance and identify growth opportunities.
- Represent Snake Oil Cocktail Company at key industry events, networking functions, and partner engagements.
- Secure preferred placement on venue and vendor lists to drive consistent inbound opportunity flow.
- Build and maintain long term relationships with venues, planners, vendors, and strategic partners.
- Attend client events as needed to ensure execution aligns with the agreed service vision and brand standards.
- Conduct post event client follow up to reinforce relationships, resolve issues, and generate repeat business.
- Partner closely with Operations, Staffing, and Leadership to plan and execute events successfully.
- Communicate all event requirements clearly to internal teams with recommendations that balance profitability and client expectations.
- Ensure events are properly scheduled, staffed, and resourced using accurate BEOs and event documentation.
- Coordinate staffing needs with the Staffing Manger and assist in identifying high quality event staff.
- Communicate special client requirements including service style, dress code, timelines, and production details.
- Proactively identify operational risks and escalators with solution oriented recommendations.
- Maintain accurate and current sales reports, pipeline tracking, and booking documentation.
- Ensure timely collection of deposits and final event payments.
- Partner with leadership to provide forecasting data, booking projections, and revenue insights.
- Utilize company systems including Google Workspace and Triple Seat to maintain data integrity and reporting accuracy.
- Minimum 5 years of hospitality, food and beverage, or event sales experience.
- Proven experience managing, coaching, and leading a sales team.
- Demonstrated success closing complex event or catering contracts.
- Strong analytical capability with exceptional attention to detail.
