TheOpportunity
We’re hiring a Business Development Representative to support our sales team in building and managing a strong pipeline of qualified leads. As a BDR, you’ll focus on outbound prospecting, lead generation, and early‑stage relationship building to create new business opportunities for our Account Executives to close.
This is an entry‑to‑mid‑level role with clear paths for growth into an AE role. It’s perfect for someone looking to break into the sports and fitness marketing space, gain hands‑on sales experience, and grow within a fast‑moving, competitive team.
Key Responsibilities- Prospect & Research: Identify and research high‑potential D2C brands across the sports, fitness, and wellness verticals.
- Outbound Engagement: Execute targeted outbound campaigns through email, cold calling, and social media to generate interest and book discovery calls.

Qualification:
Pre‑qualify inbound and outbound leads based on brand size, goals, and fit for OPTYO’s offerings. - CRM Management: Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records in our CRM, ensuring a smooth handoff to AEs.
- Sales Support: Assist AEs in prepping for pitches and proposals, organizing account information, and following up with prospects.

Collaboration:
Work closely with marketing, sales, and leadership to align outreach efforts with strategic goals. - Learn & Grow: Continuously refine your skills in sales outreach, messaging, and brand storytelling with support and mentorship from senior team members.
- Have 1–2 years of experience in a sales, lead generation, or client‑facing role (agency or startup experience is a plus).
- Are highly organized, self‑motivated, and excited by the idea of earning through performance.
- Thrive in a fast‑paced environment where every conversation could lead to a new client.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Understand the basics of D2C marketing or have a genuine interest in the sports & fitness space.

In-Office Located in San Diego, Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.
