Job SummaryThe Sales and Service Expert (SSE) delivers an outstanding and well‑rounded sales and service experience to all guests and members. The SSE builds relationships, translates the value of 24 Hour Fitness offerings, and focuses on behaviors that drive member acquisition and retention. The SSE engages guests and members and achieves sales revenue goals.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience and New Member On‑boarding
- Executes the CARE sales model with each guest and passionately explains how 24 Hour Fitness’s products/services satisfy their fitness needs.
- Tours potential members through the club and describes the facility, equipment, services and amenities that tie back to their goals. Ensures all guests register through the digital kiosk.
- Communicates membership and fitness offers clearly using company provided presentation tools.
- Professionally enrolls guests using company sales techniques and protocol.
- Adheres to Membership Agreement Procedures (MAP) when enrolling members and guests.
- On‑boards new members successfully and assists with all retention activities to drive club profitability.
- Consistently achieves or exceeds personal and team sales goals.
Prospecting and Lead Generation
- Obtains leads externally from the community using company tools/programs.
- Generates internal leads via member promotions, referrals, guest passes, and contacting phone leads.
- Sets appointments for all leads and new business opportunities.
- Promotes local and global marketing campaigns to leads and members.
- Follows up on leads/new business using a Lead Management System.
- Executes daily planner to track and plan lead management and selling activities.
- Consistently achieves or exceeds personal productivity goals.
Member Experience
- Partners with the Sales and Service Manager to provide a member‑centric experience that strengthens relationships.
- Ensures members receive a friendly greeting/check‑in and prompt attention.
- Engages members with fitness offerings including personal training, group exercise classes and 24GO digital content.
- Maintains relationships and acts as a resource for member questions or concerns.
- Provides a clean, friendly, well‑maintained club environment.
- Helps new members feel comfortable in the club.
Team members are eligible to participate in 24 Hour Fitness’s Fitness Sales and Membership Sales Commission Plans, rewarding exceptional service and aligning pay with contributions.
Organization RelationshipsReports to the Sales and Service Manager. Interacts with club members, prospective members and outside vendors. No direct reports.
Required QualificationsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities
- In‑depth knowledge of sales practices and techniques.
- Understanding of the fitness industry.
- Computer proficiency.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Self‑starter with strong organization.
- Team player.
- Proficient with Point of Sale (POS) System.
- Knowledge of Membership System software preferred.
Minimum Education al Level/Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- CPR and AED certification from an approved organization within 60 days of employment.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Prior experience in fitness or retail industry preferred.
- 1‑2 years of service sales experience preferred.
- Work in club office; move around club floors and rooms.
- Demonstrate or explain proper physical fitness activities and procedures.
- Telephonic communication with members.
- Operate company computer systems, data entry, and email.
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Work varied schedule, including extended workdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Work in a loud environment.
- Minimum travel may be required for training and lead generation.
