Position: Security Ambassador (Seasonal, Sesame Place Chula Vista)

this is a seasonal role

we are not accepting j‑1 visa students at this time and do not sponsor visas at our park. All candidates must be authorized to work in the united states at the time of their interview and will be required to provide proof of work authorization upon hire. Please ensure you are available to attend an in‑person interview at the date and time you select, as exceptions cannot be made to this requirement.

what

you get to do
  • ensure excellent customer service by responding to customer requirements, expectations, and needs
  • be responsible for the safety and protection of guests, visitors, co‑workers and their property while on company premises
  • help write reports for minor incidents (e.g., lost strollers and missing items)
  • conduct bag checks, looking for any items that are not allowed into sea facilities
  • observe main gate areas for suspicious person(s) or activity
  • staff parking lot observation towers
  • staff various park entrances
  • help locate lost children
  • occasionally assists other locations and areas throughout the park as needed
  • other duties as assigned
what it takes to succeed
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • at least 18 years of age
  • able to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time
  • able to work in outside weather conditions
  • able to positively interact with park guests, co‑workers of all ages, different ethnic/cultural backgrounds and/or languages, and individuals with special needs
  • excellent english written and verbal communication skills, and be able to generate written reports, effectively present information and respond to questions from the general public with excellent guest service skills
availability and hours
  • this is a seasonal role
  • you may be scheduled up to 40 hours. Hours scheduled may vary based on business need
  • the sesame place season runs from march 2026 through labor day 2026, with onboarding and all required training to be completed prior to the start of the season
  • during the non‑peak season, must be available both saturday & sunday
  • during the peak season (i.e., spring break & summer), you must have 5 days of unrestricted availability, to include the weekends
  • you must be able to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • hours vary based on business need

compensation
  • $16.90 per hour
