Overview

Join Road Runner Sports as our next Mobile Retail Program Manager at Road Runner Sports for our Mobile Retail Store and take charge of leading the development and implementation of the company's newest mobile retail project. In this position, you will be in charge of managing the everyday functions of Shoe Force 1, a unique mobile store run from a fully equipped van.

Your duties will involve supervising the daily operations of Shoe Force 1, guiding team members, and executing the store's overarching strategy. Working closely with the Senior Partnership Manager, you will have the main role in overseeing all aspects of the mobile store operations.

What you will get to do as an Mobile Retail Program Manager for our Mobile Retail Store:

  • Deliver a consistent and memorable WOW experience that leaves customers feeling great, eager to return, and motivated to share their experiences.
  • Drive sales through Shoe Force 1 to meet or exceed budget expectations.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and cultivate top talent in the retail industry.
  • Manage the financial performance of Shoe Force 1, including store expenses, payroll, and inventory control.
  • Maintain a disciplined approach to the van’s operations, striving for a world-class experience for guests while serving as an ambassador for Road Runner Sports. This includes maintaining a professional demeanor and being a compelling presenter when engaging with community partners.
  • Plan events for Show Force 1 in advance to ensure cross-functional teams are aware and all elements of the event/store are covered.
  • Manage 3-5 events per week, with some events potentially spanning a 2–3-day period.
  • Create a robust number of professional contacts in the local community
  • Development of the team members to maximize their performance

In this position, you will develop and nurture relationships with both internal and external customers to maximize results. You will create strategic partnerships with businesses, medical centers, event managers, teams, and other local influencers to bring Shoe Force 1 to various businesses and events for on-site sales. You will also focus on increasing profitability through revenue-generating initiatives and cost-saving measures. Your responsibilities will include overseeing daily operations, managing store openings and closings, monitoring customer service levels, directing team members, and supervising cash register operations.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year institution, along with a minimum of five years of retail experience, including at least three years in a supervisory capacity, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proficient in project management and skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging, influencing, and collaborating with individuals at all organizational levels, both internally and externally.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective public speaking skills, with the capability to address and respond to inquiries from groups of customers, Team Members, and the general public.
  • Proficient in problem-solving, with the ability to handle various concrete variables in situations that may lack standardization.
  • Must be able to spend over six hours on your feet, often in outdoor settings during events, and capable of lifting or moving up to 50 pounds during setup and teardown activities.
