Role OverviewThe Retail Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing retail marketing programs across national and regional accounts. This role will manage promotions, in-store merchandising, co-op and shopper marketing budgets, retail creative development, and performance tracking across key channels. This is a highly cross‑functional role working closely with various departments to ensure all retail initiatives drive velocity, trial, household penetration, and brand awareness.
This is an in-office position at the Cymbiotika HQ in San Diego.
Key Responsibilities Retail Promotions & Shopper Marketing- Develop and execute retail promotional strategies across top retail partners.
- Build promotional calendars, manage timelines, and coordinate with Sales to align with account needs and category strategies.
- Lead planning and execution of in‑store and digital shopper marketing campaigns, including retailer media networks.
- Track and analyze retail marketing performance using POS data, syndicated category data, retailer portals, and internal reporting.
- Provide weekly/monthly readouts with insights, risks, and recommendations to optimize promotions, merchandising, and spend.
- Monitor promo ROI, lift, velocity, and spend efficiency across accounts.
- Own the development of in‑store merchandising assets including 5x7s, shelf talkers, shippers, sidecaps, endcaps, display‑ready trays, and seasonal programs.
- Partner with Brand and Creative on retail creative that aligns with brand guidelines and hero product messaging.
- Manage routing, approvals, and vendor timelines to ensure flawless execution.
- Manage co‑op budgets across retail partners; maintain detailed tracking of spend, commitments, and accruals.
- Build and maintain annual retail marketing budget; partner with Finance and Sales to reconcile actuals and forecast future spend.
- Negotiate co‑op programs, display opportunities, media placements, and account‑specific opportunities.
- Work closely with Sales to support sell‑in decks, line reviews, and launch programs.
- Partner with Operations on demand planning and inventory alignment for promotions and displays.
- Collaborate with Brand Marketing to ensure consistency in messaging, product hierarchy, and hero claims across retail.
- Manage relationships with merchandising vendors, print partners, retailer media reps, and in‑store execution partners.
- Own project timelines, budgets, and flawless execution from briefing to in‑store activation.
- 3–5 years of experience in retail marketing, shopper marketing, CPG brand marketing, or retail‑facing account marketing.
- Experience executing retail promotions, negotiating co‑op programs, and managing retail budgets.
- Strong understanding of shopper behavior, CPG merchandising, and retailer media networks.
- Comfort working in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment with changing priorities.
