Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide best‑in‑class guest service, greet guests promptly, respond to questions and concerns efficiently, assist guests with their video gaming needs, inform them of special promotions, recommend additional items as appropriate and thank them for shopping at Game Stop.
- Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to repeat business.
- Process guest purchases and returns accurately using the POS computer system.
- Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone, using the provided phone greeting and escalating issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
- Promote Game Stop’s unique guest benefits such as the new title reservations program, trade‑in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program.
- Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations, training store associates, observing performance, providing feedback, and ensuring all associates adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Ensure the store’s appearance is clean, organized, and merchandised per company guidelines and that all fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
- Approve payroll, set schedules, and verify that associates are paid for all time worked.
- Maintain inventory control and loss prevention practices, including inspecting packages at closing, delivering bank deposits, and communicating discrepancies to the Store Manager.
- Support the team in meeting or exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
- Perform store inventory counts, restock merchandise, and keep products organized on the sales floor.
- Reconcile daily business transaction totals, complete closeout paperwork and bank deposit slips, and ensure the store has sufficient cash and change for sales transactions.
- Process defectives, recalls, and stock pulls accurately and promptly.
- Maintain awareness of associate and guest safety, report injuries promptly, and maintain store records/files in an organized manner.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Adhere to Game Stop policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
- Follow all opening and closing procedures.
- Proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
- At least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
- At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
- At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
- Video game knowledge preferred.

- Clear verbal and written communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
