Food Server
Full Time:
Sunday - Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Friday and Saturday Off)
Pay Range: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Summary
Under the supervision of the Dining Room Manager, a Server interacts with our residents and employees of Front Porch residential facilities, and ensures they have a great experience when dining. Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guests needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.
Servers are expected to have some basic food knowledge by performing the following duties.
- Food Service Server
- Provide quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction.
- Prepare tables, lay out napkins and utensils, ensure condiments are refilled, and perform other preparation tasks.
- Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and deviations, and know if the kitchen staff is running out of items.
- Direct guests to their tables, present menus, suggest dishes, assist in drink selection, inform guests about food preparation details, and communicate specific guest needs to the cooks.
- Maintain proper dining experience by delivering items, fulfilling guest needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, and refilling glasses.
- Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
- Fill in for absent staff as needed.
- Assist with special events as needed.
- Greet all guests warmly with an appropriate greeting.
- Follow highest standards of cleanliness and comply with federal, state and corporate policies, health codes and guidelines in preparation and handling of foodstuffs.
- Perform duties safely and efficiently; wear safety equipment as required; report safety hazards and/or accidents to supervisor.
- Follow department safety standards and practice correct body mechanics; participate in campus-wide safety programs.
- Attend all mandatory in-service meetings and comply with department and facilities policies and procedures.
- Understand facility’s fire and disaster plans and follow established procedures during drills and emergencies.
- Food Handlers’ certification from local health department
- Some High School Education
- Previous Food Service experience or training preferred
The actual compensation offered will depend on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, training, education, and licensure/certifications (as applicable).
