Who you are:
  • High school graduate
  • Minimum of 2 years production kitchen experience, with 1-year minimum food preparation experience
  • Ability to speak, read and write English
  • Basic cooking skills and creative food presentation skills required
Job Summary:

The Entree Cook will be responsible for preparing and serving delicious, nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner while ensuring all food production runs smoothly. The Entree Cook works under the direction of the Executive Chef. The Entree Cook follows production guides and fulfills production needs as assigned. Follows safe food handling practices and maintains all food storage and sanitation standards.

The Entree Cook presents high-quality dishes for our residents and catered events, overseeing daily kitchen operations to deliver an outstanding dining experience.

Essential

Job Duties:
  • Review daily menus and work assignments to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Prepare entrées, soups, and modified diets following standardized recipes and production methods.
  • Set up all food stations before service, ensuring proper food temperatures before and during meals.
  • Portion meat, poultry, and seafood according to established guidelines and maintain portion control throughout service.
  • Taste and adjust dishes as needed to enhance flavor, texture, and presentation.
  • Follow closing procedures to maintain sanitation, food safety, and secure storage practices.
  • Properly label, date, store, and utilize leftover food appropriately.
  • Make menu substitutions when necessary and communicate changes to staff.
  • Monitor and report any safety, sanitation, or food-handling concerns immediately.
  • Follow the daily sanitation schedule and oversee cleaning tasks completed by staff.
  • Adhere to all departmental and facility policies and procedures.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions.
  • Foster positive interactions with residents, co-workers, and the production team.
  • Work collaboratively and adapt to changes in a professional manner, even under time constraints.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
