Position description
The Department of Radiation Medicine and Applied Sciences () within the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego, is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body and is seeking Assistant, Associate, or Full Project Scientists to join the Chang Lab.
The Project Scientists will make significant and creative contributions to a research or creative project in their academic discipline. Under the supervision of the Principal Investigators, the Project Scientists will function independently, and the role includes:
Appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Project Scientist level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent degree in Medical Physics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
Preferred qualifications
Candidates with a minimum of two years of demonstrated experience in radiation oncology physics, proton therapy, inverse optimization, reinforcement learning, and deep learning are preferred.
