Overview
VCA Emergency Animal Hospital & Referral Center in Mission Valley, San Diego, California, is expanding the specialty services with the addition of a full-time Veterinary Integrative Medicine Specialist. With the opening of a brand-new, state-of-the-art 26,000-square-foot hospital in July 2024, we are entering an exciting phase of growth and innovation.

- ICU & Specialty Nursing Teams
We are now expanding into Integrative Medicine to provide comprehensive, whole-patient care that blends advanced Western medicine with evidence-based complementary therapies.
Position OverviewWe are seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Integrative Medicine Specialist who is passionate about providing individualized, multimodal treatment plans. This role offers the opportunity to build and grow a new integrative service line within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary referral hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and lead our Integrative Medicine service
- Perform patient assessments and create customized therapy plans
- Collaborate with specialty and emergency clinicians
- Utilize and/or develop services such as:
- Acupuncture
- Chinese Herbal Medicine
- Rehabilitation & Physical Therapy integration
- Pain management protocols
- Nutritional therapy
- Laser therapy and other advanced modalities
- Full Time availability

Compensation
- Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. The annual salary for this position is $125,000.
- This position may also be eligible for other variable pay programs.

Qualifications- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, from an accredited university or equivalent
- Licensure in good standing to practice in (state), or the ability to obtain
- Residency Trained or Diplomate Board Certification
- A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
