Overview

VCA Emergency Animal Hospital & Referral Center in Mission Valley, San Diego, California, is expanding the specialty services with the addition of a full-time Veterinary Integrative Medicine Specialist. With the opening of a brand-new, state-of-the-art 26,000-square-foot hospital in July 2024, we are entering an exciting phase of growth and innovation.

Our newly opened facility was designed to support the highest standard of veterinary specialty and emergency care. Our services include:

• 24/7 Emergency & Critical Care
• Internal Medicine
• Surgery
• Neurology & Neurosurgery
• Oncology
• Advanced Imaging (CT / MRI)
• Cardiology
• ICU & Specialty Nursing Teams

We are now expanding into Integrative Medicine to provide comprehensive, whole-patient care that blends advanced Western medicine with evidence-based complementary therapies.

We are seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Integrative Medicine Specialist who is passionate about providing individualized, multimodal treatment plans. This role offers the opportunity to build and grow a new integrative service line within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary referral hospital.

• Develop and lead our Integrative Medicine service
• Perform patient assessments and create customized therapy plans
• Collaborate with specialty and emergency clinicians
• Utilize and/or develop services such as:
• Acupuncture
• Chinese Herbal Medicine
• Rehabilitation & Physical Therapy integration
• Pain management protocols
• Nutritional therapy
• Laser therapy and other advanced modalities

Compensation

• Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. The annual salary for this position is $125,000.
• This position may also be eligible for other variable pay programs.

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, from an accredited university or equivalent
• Licensure in good standing to practice in (state), or the ability to obtain
• Residency Trained or Diplomate Board Certification
