Position RN - Cardiac PCU SCVC 3B (Nights)
Responsibilities- Delivers direct, hands-on care to critically ill cardiology patients on a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit using the nursing process in a clinic-style environment.
- Assesses and monitors patients with advanced cardiology interventions (e.g., post-angioplasty, pacemakers, CABG, vascular revascularization, balloon pulmonary angioplasty).
- Develops, implements, and adjusts individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team and under physician oversight.
- Educates patients and families to promote self-care, understanding of their condition, and treatment adherence.
- Manages and maintains clinic equipment and ensures supplies are organized and readily available.
- Handles complex, high-acuity cases requiring advanced clinical skills and vigilant monitoring.
- Operates within a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 or 1:4 with continuous 24-hour physician coverage.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
- RN license issued by the State of California.
- BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with a commitment to obtain ART within six (6) months of hire date.
- Two years of recent acute care RN experience in Cardiac Progressive Care, with experience in General Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Cardiac Interventional, and Cardiac Electrophysiology demonstrated on resume.
- Solid understanding of nursing-sensitive indicators relevant to Cardiac Progressive Care; ability to apply to daily practice to promote quality and safety.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and prioritization skills; ability to provide individualized care to vulnerable populations.
- Ability to handle unexpected challenges in a progressive care setting with team-centered solutions; effective communication with staff, physicians, patients and external constituents.
- Participation in shared governance committees or equivalent.
- BSN
- IMU experience
- PCCN, CSC, and CMC certifications
- Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and locations based on the Medical Center's needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act:
Annual Full Pay Range: $138,330 - $193,892 (prorated if appointment percent is less than 100%). Hourly: $66.25 - $92.86.
