Overview
Scripps Mercy Hospital has served central and downtown San Diego since 1890 and is the oldest medical center in the county. The San Diego campus is located near the corner of 5th Avenue and Washington Street in Hillcrest. Scripps Mercy Hospital consists of two campuses in San Diego and Chula Vista. Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego’s campus includes the O’Toole Breast Care Center, a 24-hour emergency room that is a Level I Trauma Center, outpatient physical rehabilitation, minimally invasive robotic surgery and our childbirth unit (including a Level II neonatal intensive care unit).
This is a Full time, benefited position as a Lead OR RN at Scripps Mercy San Diego
. The shift is 4 days per week with a 10 hour day shift. This individual will need to have OR circulating experience specifically with ENT, Head and Neck surgery, maxillofacial surgery and plastic surgery service lines.
Bonus incentive of $8,000 and relocation assistance is available to eligible new hires.

- Management and coordination of patient care within the Care Unit on a per shift basis. This is accomplished through implementation and integration of the nursing process, through assignment and supervision of appropriate staff and in coordination and collaboration with physicians.
- The Lead RN functions as the Care Unit expert and provides functional direction to members of the OR Patient Care team.
- Communicate with supply chain coordinators, vendors, surgeons, and charge RNs.
- Review the OR schedule and order necessary products and supplies.
- Cover breaks, support staff in the room for their services, and may staff a room.
- May help other Leads on projects.
- Note:
Internal candidates and rehires that left Scripps less than 3 years ago are not eligible for hiring incentives.
- Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter).
- Must remain in original department/specialty.
- Must remain in original Job Title.
- Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.
- Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- California Registered Nurse License.
- One (1) year of recent surgery or operating room RN experience in an acute care setting.
- ENT
- Head and neck, maxillofacial surgery and plastic surgery experience. - Current American Heart Association BLS provider certification.
- Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
- Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- 3 years or more experience in Nursing is preferred.
- 2 years or more of related experience.
- CNOR certificate.
- Leadership experience.

Position Pay Range: $61.91-$89.63/hour
