The Sanford Stem Cell Clinical Center is devoted to translating stem cell research to safe and effective therapies and is part of the Sanford Stem Cell Institute.

Senior LVN - Alpha Clinic (part-time appointment)
Responsibilities and duties are performed under general supervision and include a wide range of patient care activities, prioritizing and assisting with patient phone calls, administering medications, collecting data, performing procedures, obtaining specimens, providing patient and family education, and reviewing treatment plans. The Senior LVN also performs clinical study-related procedures in accordance with study protocols for patients participating in clinical trials, including central venous access, blood draws, dressing changes, peripheral blood draws, peripheral IV insertion, hydration, injections, EKGs, vital signs, and rooming patients.
It also provides support for standard-of-care patient visits as part of routine clinic operations. The Senior LVN serves as a liaison between physicians and patients and as a patient educator. All job standards are expected to be performed at an expert level.
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – issued by the state of California. LVN license must include IV/blood withdrawal certification.
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within 6 months of hire date.
- Minimum of two years of LVN experience.
- Experience working with EPIC.
- Knowledge and skills in basic nursing techniques, nursing procedures, specimen collection, and specimen testing.
- Knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize assignments, manage workflow, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate clearly and accurately, both verbally and in writing. Excellent interpersonal skills with tact and diplomacy for interactions with providers, staff, and a diverse patient population.
- Experience in both clinical and research settings.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and a pre-employment physical.
- Hours are Monday-Friday, variable, 8-hour days. Shifts will be 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM. No weekends or holidays required.
Annual Full Pay Range: $74,980 - $93,229 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $35.91 - $44.65.
