This position is for a Nephrology LVN. Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in the assigned department, performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of clinic activity. This includes prioritizing and assisting in patient triage processing, preparation and assistance with patient examinations, administering medications, drawing blood, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, patient education and venipuncture and IV access.

Position requires initiative, the ability to prioritize critical demands and the ability to work in a team environment. Other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Managing patient lab orders
  • Nurse Visit Injections
  • Monitoring/Managing patient Rx
  • Coordinate Pediatric Transition/Rare Disorders clinic
  • Manage Rx Prior Authorizations
  • Coordinate Biopsy procedures
Minimum Qualifications
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license issued by the State of California.
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
  • Two (2) years of recent LVN experience.
  • Must have experience with Nephrology/specialty outpatient clinics.
  • Must possess the skills, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in Intravenous Therapy issued by the state of California (LVN IV).
Special Conditions
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay and Benefits

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $74,980 - $93,229 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $35.91 - $44.65

Note: Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
