Job Summary
  • Under the direct supervision of the Pre‑Op/PACU manager, the PACU nurse is responsible for implementing all physician orders and ensuring continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients.
  • Continuously evaluates patients’ conditions, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times.
  • Assists the physicians in procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile technique as needed.
  • Provides total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.
  • Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Pay Range: $52.00 - 59.00/hour

Required

Skills and Qualifications
  • Current CA Nursing License
  • Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital setting
  • Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems, and correct errors
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, staff, physicians, vendors, and the public
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness to change, creativity, and innovation
  • Strong knowledge of and ability to adapt quickly to surgery procedures and surgical patient management
  • Understanding of aseptic technique principles and their implementation
  • Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
  • Excellent teaching skills
  • Basic knowledge of performance improvement ideology
