RN Lead, Surgery; OR - Mercy San Diego

Job Overview

Full‑time RN Lead position at Scripps Mercy San Diego. 4‑day per week schedule with 10‑hour day shifts. Requires extensive OR circulating experience in ENT‑Head and Neck, maxillofacial, and plastic surgery. Call coverage is required.

• Coordinate patient care within the unit for each shift, implementing the nursing process and supervising staff.
• Act as the unit expert and provide functional direction to the OR patient‑care team.
• Communicate with supply‑chain coordinators, vendors, surgeons, and charge RNs.
• Review the OR schedule and order necessary products and supplies.
• Cover staff breaks and support the room team, sometimes staffing a room.
• Assist other Leads on projects.

• Registered nursing degree from an accredited school.
• California Registered Nurse license.
• One year of recent, acute‑care operating‑room RN experience.
• Experience in ENT‑head and neck, maxillofacial, and plastic surgery.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Fluency in English (speaking, reading, following instructions).
• Ability to demonstrate positive behaviors.

• Bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Three years or more of nursing experience.
• Two years or more of related experience.
• CNOR certification.
• Leadership experience.
