We are seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Nursing / Nurse Administrator to lead operations within a Cardiac Cath Lab Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing clinical, administrative, and financial functions while ensuring full compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards. The position reports directly to the Medical Director and works collaboratively with physicians, clinical teams, and administrative leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily clinical and administrative operations of the Ambulatory Surgery Center, including cardiac cath labs and recovery areas.
- Ensure continuous compliance with AAAASF accreditation standards and CMS regulatory requirements.
- Lead and manage Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Improvement (QI), and infection control programs.
- Supervise, support, and develop clinical and administrative staff to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and the Medical Director to optimize procedural outcomes and operational performance.
- Provide strategic oversight of financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
- Develop, implement, and manage the annual operating budget while identifying cost-containment opportunities.
- Oversee vendor contracts, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
- Monitor key financial and operational performance indicators and prepare reports for leadership.
- Coordinate accurate billing, coding, and revenue cycle management with the business office team.
- Manage staffing models, resource utilization, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and records to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Serve as the primary liaison with governing bodies, vendors, and external partners.
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred
Licensure & Certifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years of leadership experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)
- Prior experience in cardiac or cath lab environments strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience with AAAASF accreditation and CMS compliance
- Proven background in business office operations and ASC management
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial management, and cost control
- Experience with QA/QI initiatives and infection control standards
- Working knowledge of healthcare billing, reimbursement models, and ASC revenue cycle systems
