Job Title: Marketing Manager Kickstarter Campaign & Growth

Role Summary

Dojo Air is seeking a hands-on Marketing Manager (Campaign & Growth) to own marketing strategy and execution during a critical inflection point: our pre-Kickstarter ramp, live Kickstarter campaign, and post-campaign transition to D2C growth.

This is not a junior marketing manager role, and not yet a traditional CMO role. This position is designed for a highly capable marketing operator who can think strategically, execute tactically, and build systems, without the overhead or abstraction of a full executive hire.

If the first 90 days are successful, this role is expected to evolve into a full-time CMO position with expanded scope and authority.

Mission (First 90 Days)

The primary mission of this role is to:

  • Design and execute a measurable, performance-driven marketing strategy
  • Successfully launch and manage the Dojo Air Kickstarter campaign
  • Build the foundation for scalable post-campaign growth

Success will be judged on clarity, execution, velocity, and outcomes, not activity.

Core Responsibilities
  • 1. Marketing Strategy & Integration – Own the end-to-end marketing strategy across pre-launch, launch, and post-launch phases
  • Translate company vision, product positioning, and target sectors into clear go-to-market plans
  • Ensure all channels (influencers, affiliates, paid, organic, community) are aligned under a single strategy
  • Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting cadence for leadership
  • 2. Pre-Kickstarter Execution (Immediate Priority) – Finalize and execute the influencer + affiliate marketing strategy
  • Oversee presale campaigns and demand validation
  • Coordinate messaging, offers, and incentives across platforms
  • Manage content calendars and asset requirements
  • Direct and manage VA(s) responsible for influencer sourcing, outreach, and tracking
  • 3. Kickstarter Campaign Ownership – Own the full Kickstarter marketing plan (outside of Meta), and daily execution
  • Drive funding velocity through:
    Influencer activation
  • Email and community pushes
  • Social and content coordination
  • Speaking opportunities (podcast, conventions, etc)
  • Manage mid-campaign optimizations based on live data
  • Communicate campaign milestones internally and externally to Kickstarter Team
  • Coordinate with product, ops, and leadership to ensure accurate, credible messaging
  • 4. Post-Campaign Transition & Growth Prep – Transition marketing from Kickstarter to D2C / preorder / waitlist
  • Retain and deepen relationships with top-performing affiliates and influencers
  • Plan post-campaign storytelling (production updates, behind-the-scenes, delivery roadmap)
  • Prepare the roadmap for:
    Product reviews
  • Long-form content
  • Ongoing community-driven growth
  • 5. Team & Vendor Management – Direct VA, freelancers, and agencies as needed
  • Clearly define scopes, timelines, and success metrics
  • Act as the single owner of marketing execution
  • Prevent fragmentation, duplication, or misalignment
  • 6. Reporting & Leadership Communication – Provide weekly executive summaries to COO and CEO
  • Surface insights, risks, and recommendations clearly
  • Make data-backed decisions and adjustments quickly

    • A brand-only or content-only position
    • A passive coordinator of agencies
    • A role for someone who avoids numbers, accountability, or ambiguity
    Ideal Candidate Profile

    Required Experience

    • 7 years minimum in marketing, growth, or go-to-market roles
    • Direct experience running or supporting a major launch (Kickstarter or similar is a strong plus)
    • Proven ability to manage both strategy and hands-on execution
    • Experience working with influencers, affiliates, and digital campaigns
    • Comfort operating in early-stage or high-ambiguity environments

    90-Day Success Criteria

    By Day 90, this person will have:

    • Successfully executed the Kickstarter marketing campaign
    • Built a functioning influencer/affiliate engine
    • Established clear marketing dashboards and reporting cadence
    • Positioned Dojo Air for post-campaign D2C growth
    • Earned trust and alignment with leadership

    Meeting or exceeding these outcomes will trigger discussion of:

    • Expanded scope
    • Potential title transition to Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)
    • Long-term compensation and equity alignment
