San Diego, CA | In-Office

As a Publicist, you will own PR programs and lead day‑to‑day execution while partnering closely with account, creative, digital, and leadership teams. You will be expected to generate press, manage media relationships, and guide clients with confidence and clarity.

Your responsibilities include:

• Developing PR strategies that align to client objectives, brand voice, and business goals
• Identifying and shaping story angles that are newsworthy, timely, and defensible
• Writing and editing press releases, media alerts, pitch emails, contributed articles, bios, Q&A, talking points, and briefing documents
• Building and maintaining targeted media lists across local, regional, and national outlets
• Pitching media consistently and intelligently, with follow‑through and relationship‑building at the center
• Securing earned media placements and measuring impact beyond vanity metrics
• Managing interview opportunities, media training preparation, and spokesperson support
• Monitoring news cycles, trends, and issues that affect client reputation and opportunity
• Managing PR timelines, deliverables, approvals, and internal coordination to ensure nothing slips
• Preparing weekly and monthly activity reporting, coverage recaps, and strategic recommendations
• Supporting reputation management efforts and rapid response when issues arise
• Collaborating with social and digital teams to amplify earned media and integrate messaging across channels
• Leading client communications with confidence, professionalism, and extraordinary responsiveness

• 5+ years of PR experience preferred, ideally with agency experience
• Proven track record of securing earned media placements and building media relationships
• Strong writing and editing skills with an eye for tone, clarity, and brand voice
• Experience managing multiple accounts, timelines, and approvals simultaneously
• Confidence working directly with senior client stakeholders
• Ability to develop strategy, not just execute tactics
• Familiarity with media databases and monitoring tools is a plus
• Comfort working cross‑functionally with creative, digital, and account teams
